Beloved television personality Betty White has passed away at the age of 99, just two weeks shy of her 100th birthday on January 17th. She passed peacefully at her Los Angeles home this morning according to sources. It appears she passed of natural causes.
White won five Primetime Emmy Awards, of which two were Daytime Emmy Awards (including the 2015 Daytime Emmy for Lifetime Achievement), and received a Los Angeles Emmy Award in 1952.
Betty White was the only woman to have received an Emmy in all performing comedic categories, and also holds the record for longest time between Emmy nominations for performances. Her first was in 1951 and her last was in 2014. Her career has spanned over eight decades. She was married to game show host Allen Ludden who passed away in 1981.
A staunch animal rights advocate, Betty White spent the majority of her time with animal and pet charities and programs. Thank you for being a friend ! Rest In Peace
