Today marks the 93rd birthday of legendary comedian Bob Newhart.
Newhart got his start in stand-up comedy, performing in clubs throughout the Midwest. In 1961, he released his first comedy album, “The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart,” which quickly rose to the top of the charts and won a Grammy Award for Album of the Year.
Newhart’s success continued with a successful TV career, starring in sitcoms such as “The Bob Newhart Show” and “Newhart.” In addition to his work in television, Newhart has also appeared in films such as ” Elf” and “The Librarian: Quest for the Spear.”
Today, Newhart is celebrated as one of the greatest comedians of all time, with a unique style that has inspired generations of comics.
