On this day in 1968 – “Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In”, debuted on NBC TV.

If you were alive in 1968, there’s a good chance you spent your Tuesday evenings watching Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In. The topical sketch comedy show made its debut on NBC TV that year, and it was an instant hit. With a cast of comedians that included Lily Tomlin, Dick Van Dyke, and Goldie Hawn, Laugh-In was famous for its quick wit and irreverent humor. Whether they were poking fun at the latest political scandal or introducing viewers to the latest 70s slang, the Laugh-In team had a special brand of comedy that was always entertaining.
